The Spectacular Now – Movie
One of Hollywood’s most anticipated film projects is gearing up to shoot in the Atlanta area and the producers and casting directors are on the lookout for local talent to star in the production. Casting calls and auditions for The Spectacular Now will be held soon for a number of fantastic roles.
The Spectacular Now is based upon the acclaimed novel by Tim Tharp with a script by Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter, the team behind the 2009 hit (500) Days of Summer. The film will tell the story of high school senior Sutter Keely who spends his days in a constant state of drunkenness, perfectly content to live in the moment and not think about his impending future. All of this changes when he begins to date social outcast Aimee and sees that the future may not be so daunting after all. The Spectacular Now will be directed by Atlanta native James Ponsoldt who requested the film be shot in his hometown and has lined up a who’s who of young movie talent including Shailene Woodley (The Decendants, The Secret Life of the American Teenager), Brie Larson (21 Jump Street, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) and Miles Teller (Project X, Footloose) and you could be cast alongside them.
